Ways Parents Can Play Into The Idea Of Santa Claus

Keeping the Magic Alive: Tips for Parents on How to Keep the Santa Claus Tradition Going strong for Their Kids

For parents, there is nothing more exciting than trying to sneak gifts under the tree so that your kids will believe that Santa Claus did drop these off at your home. However, many parents are finding that it is even more fun when they have several different ways that they can play into the idea of Santa being real for their children.

Through using these ideas, you will find that this can make Christmas even more fun for your children!

  1. Be sure to leave cookies and milk for Santa Claus. This is a tradition that most kids follow. And to make this even more believable, why not leave a few cookie crumbs on the plate, and a little milk in the glass to prove that Santa ate these while in a hurry!
  2. If you have kids that are trying to stay up to see Santa, then you need to make sure that they are asleep while you put presents under the tree. Otherwise, they are going to catch you and the idea will be up in air. However, if your kids do catch you putting presents under the tree, tell them that Santa dropped them off on the front porch because he was running behind schedule and needed parent help to get this all done in one night.
  3. Wrap the presents in wrapping paper that is different from what you wrapped the family gifts in. You may have to sneak the wrapping paper into your house to avoid the kids seeing this. We suggest that you choose a wrapping paper that is special to the kid in question. For example, if you have a daughter that loves puppies, then choose wrapping paper that has puppies all over it. Base this on the individual kid as it makes it all that much more special.
  4. Let your younger kids write letters to Santa, and mail these. It is a great activity that gives the kids something to look forward to during the Christmas season.
  5. Follow Santa Claus on his route. Many websites are dedicated to showing where Santa is at during any time on Christmas Eve. This can be a great way to get little ones into bed when you show that Santa is only a few hours away, so you have to be to sleep in order for him to stop!
  6. Make a new tradition of reading the traditional Santa Claus story so that the kids have this as a memory for many years. And you will find that this can make the idea of Santa come to life for even the kids that are all about this not being something that is possible!

You will find that there are tons of things that you can do to make Santa Claus come to life for your kids. Do some research or make up your own little things to do that makes your kids really believe that Santa is real. You will find that this makes the holidays all that much better!
